I am one of those silly tourists who show off the fact that they climb the Himalaya at 5,416m and feel good about themselves.
However I am aware that I did not trek on the Himalaya but the Nepali let me.
The gods live in the mountains always had an eye on us. They were quietly watching us.
The people, sometimes minor kids, their horses and yaks carry our food from the lower villages to the lodges. The tourists produce the wastes there.
We don’t climb the mountains, but rather, they let us climb.
I made miso soup to a Sherpa guy who lives in a lodge at nearly 4,000m, using the woods that must have not been easy for him to get. However I will never forget how happy he was with the taste of miso soup. He let us share the moment.
